Let's suppose you have a large photo collection and you need to resize them all, for publishing on a web site. In this case, you can go about it the slow way or the quick way. The slow way goes something like this: open each pic individually in the image editor of your choice, and resize the pics one at a time. It will take some time to get the job done, but it will get done.

Or you can go about it the fast way, which involves using a specialized application that can batch resize images. Such an application is PicShrink. Judging by its name, it's a program that can easily make the size of any image smaller, but it doesn't limit to this. It can also apply watermarks or borders to images and can even adjust some quality settings regarding images.

PicShrink is not difficult to install and completes the installation process in matter of seconds. It can run on almost any version of the Microsoft Windows operating system and it takes up little hard disk space and requires low system resources.

PicShrink has a graphical interface that features some buttons for accessing the program's functions. Speaking about functions, they range from resizing an image to cropping it or adjusting the contrast or brightness. Despite the name of the program, it can do much more than just shrink a photo. Watermarks and borders can be added to any image. The most used graphical formats are supported by PicShrink, for opening and also for saving them. The user can open a picture, a couple of pictures or a whole folder full of images into the program. After completing this step, one can apply certain actions to all the images at once, saving a lot of time and effort.

Not only the resolution of an image can be modified, but also its quality. Images can be rotated, flipped or cropped as the user desires.

Pros

It can resize a lot of pictures at once. Besides that, it can modify images in various ways, like adding watermarks, borders or customizing the brightness or contrast of an image. Furthermore, images can be rotated, flipped or cropped easily.

Cons

The interface seems a bit difficult to use and a bit crowded. Besides that, some options may confuse a first time user. PicShrink is the ideal software for resizing or modifying a lot of images at once, making them unique.
